workandfamily audit

Certificate renewed for 2016 to 2019

Since 2002, the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) – and its predecessor organisations – has been awarded the seal of approval for successfully passing the workandfamily (berufundfamilie) audit.

This certificate, which has been renewed several times since 2002, recognises the efforts made by the BMBWF to continuously develop a corporate culture that promotes equal opportunities for women and men and encourages a healthy work-life balance for both genders. By doing so, the BMBWF aims to underline the leading role of the public sector and set an example for companies in the private sector.

The workandfamily audit is a continuation of the original auditing process for a better work-life balance that was developed in Germany at the initiative and on behalf of the non-profit HERTIE Foundation. It has been adapted for Austrian use.

Since 2006, the non-profit enterprise Familie & Beruf Management GmbH has been responsible for implementing the auditing process in Austria and can provide further information upon request.
