Advisory services

The Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research offers a wide range of advice and services for parents and pupils, teachers and school management. These include services that provide support with day-to-day school problems, psychological and psychosocial problems, which both pupils and parents can contact. The Ombudsman for Values and Cultural Conflicts (Ombudsstelle für Wertefragen und Kulturkonflikte) is happy to provide teachers, school management, parents and pupils with advice in the event of grievances concerning individual schools and failures by the authorities. The school development advice service also assists teachers and school management with school development processes.

School service centres have also been established in the federal states’ Boards of Education, offering an initial point of contact for parents, pupils and teachers requiring information and advice on educational matters.
