Regional Priorities

At the regional level, the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research has always cooperated closely with Austria’s neighbouring countries and regions. Special measures are being targeted at the countries of the Western Balkans and the Danube region.

Other geographical priorities are China and the Russian Federation – two examples of successful, long-term cooperation in science and technology. A few years ago, a stable basis was created for cooperation with India and new initiatives were launched. Most recently, South-East Asia has played an increasingly important role in Austrian research cooperation.
