Educational development and research
Educational research is understood to be the elaboration of concepts and models to further develop the education system. Amongst other things, educational research tracks and evaluates reforms. As a result it plays a significant role in answering the question of whether the goals pursued are achieved with the measures used, and whether appropriate further development of the system is possible using them.
The BMBWF’s objective is to strengthen evidence-based educational research in Austria and to exploit research results for educational development. It is currently necessary to devise a coherent national educational research strategy to strengthen educational research in Austria in future (prioritisation, youth development initiatives).
